Question About Story

Hello forums!

So, Twitch.tv has D3 beta streaming all the time now, and it's gotten me thinking. (Dangerous pastime, I know...) D3 seems like it's just got a tone of lore just up for grabs all over the game, and I'm wondering how POE compares.

Disney references aside, I've always found that I', a thousand times more interested in a game with well-written lore than one that's just about the game play. Like, to the point where I'll forgive minor annoyances in game play if I'm intrigued enough by the setting.

So, my question is, mostly for the beta testers, how is the setting? Are there any other lore junkies lurking in the forums or is it just me? Am I missing the point of POE completely by asking this question?

Looking for a deep story in the ARPG game - well for me it's a bit strange really :) Its not a bad thing for any type of a game ofc but should not be a priority for a Diablo-like games imo.

Imo a good story is a must! Most of the Diablo series success was based on the theme and well written story. All the ups and downs, the twists and plots everything adds to a great game success!

There isn't a whole lot of story in the game just yet, but it will come. You can tell the devs are into lore and storytelling; have a read about the areas and monsters.

I consider this a very important part of the game and I think GGG does too. For now, it's been set aside in favor of getting the core gameplay and mechanics right.

And there are those of us like myself who are writing stuff up just for fun because imagining the lore before it's in place can be just as fun as knowing what the devs intended.

That said, they do have a lot of lore planned, from what I understand.

Not a lot of story in the game yet, the beta is actually a beta and not a demo disguised as a beta so it's in a pretty rough and unfinished state.
However, from what I've seen so far there is a lot of potential for some great lore and I hope GGG delivers :)
