scaling? screen resolution issue in 800x600

I typically like to play in 800x600 full screen for better performance and it would stretch the screen.

Recently when i goto that opttion, the game client goes to the middle of the screen and borders it witch black.

windows 8 asus laptop
intel r hd graphics 400 32 bit


i think the problem came from when i hooked the laptop up to a LCD tv VIA HDMI and it messed with something i cant fix

I've had the exact same problem on an old 1990s era laptop. I think the solution was to Fn+F8 a few times.

There is likely a scaling option in the video drivers control panel as well.
