Damage over time build! NEED HELP

I have recently been looking into creating some form of damage over time build using either a shadow/dualist/scion.

I have been doing some research and there doesn't seem to be a lot of guides on this sort of character build and especially not recent.

I currently have purchased the Bino's ready for this build so its just organizing skills/passive tree and i'm ready to go.

If any of you know much about the builds for this sort of character, could you perhaps link or explain how i would go about this. Below i have listed the kind of theory involved in making this.

-Crit based build (dual wield)
-damage over time (effective against bosses) puncture etc
-using the above to create some sort of effective AoE for packs??
-possible full evasion/life?

i'm not a very good theory crafter when it comes to the passive tree and was wondering if i could get a little help.

Thicket Bow with +2 bow gems +1 all gems - Poison arrow - Inc duration - added chaos - blind - empower - Conc effect

Chest - Viper strike - added chaos - inc duration - empower - multi strike or melee splash - faster attacks

in other gear ill have smoke mine, temp chains, vulnerability, flicker strike or whirling blades

as for auras grace, haste and purity of elements

as far as gameplay goes cast your curses set a smoke mine shoot p arrow till all mobs are covered and blinded then flicker or whirl in and viper strike the big ones like rares then smoke mine out

thats what im gunna try anyways
I just posted an idea for a pure DoT build with Viper strike and fire trap. I had no idea Binos had +30% DoT damage... I hope they're cheap cause I need one now! Thanks for the idea.

Edit: Aaaand it's way out of my price range. Oh well.

almost got mine through norm diff and loving it so far



this quiver is amazing for poison arrow cost me 3 chaos which mighta been abit much but meh

using a 1.8 speed sabre and a 1.7 speed short bow trying to get +bow skills but no luck might be abit low level

most things die with just poison arrow but i just zip in and viper strike (with multistrike you get max charges so fast) smoke out and run off if i run into a rare or a boss

trap+poison arrow+empower+incraese area+concentred area ( if 6L, you can add slower projectile )

On a +2/+1 bow , it is really awesome.
