Norton says client.exe is suspicious and removed file

While I'm not in the beta yet (key please?) I was able to track down the client and install it, more out of curosity as to how my machine would handle it than anything else, and just in case I did happen to get a key, I wanted to be prepared to get to work playing/testing right away.

However, after the last couple patches my Norton antivirus claims that the client.exe file is suspicious and removed it. I just thought I'd mention this as a note to the devs in case there's anything they need to do about this to fix the problem, which I'm sure others must have encountered by now.

I'd post this on the beta forums, but, not having a key I don't have access to them. :)

Somebody still uses norton? AHAHAHAHAHAH

Also since you "Acquired" the client.exe maybe what you really got was a virus and keygen program.

No, fairly sure it was the real client. Despite the fact that people aren't supposed to give out the info on how to get the client, it's not really hard to locate if you look for it. It properly patched and got to the login screen, but not having a key I of course couldn't log in. But thats not the issue. And many people still use Norton. The point being I just wanted to make sure the devs were aware of the conflict between the client and Norton.
I've had problems like this with Norton too. Its unrecommended but you can exclude entire folders or specific files from being scanned by insight and autoprotect. When Dead Island came out Norton kept deleting the exe file and boy was it making me cranky. Anyway hope this helps.
Posting about it in the Beta Invite Discussion area won't do a whole lot of good. If you thought it was a legitimate issue, you should PM a forum mod or dev so it can be brought up as an issue. Make sure to tell them how you got the client, too; that's important.

Telling people you got the client without being granted access to it is kind of stupid. Either someone in the beta gave it to you, or you got it from a torrent/upload site. There are good reasons why the developers don't want their beta client spread around, and you're not helping much. I hope it was actually an infected client, but that's just me. There's no reason to get it before you're allowed to play. The download and patching only takes a few minutes, so you're not saving a lot of time. Distributing the client just gives hackers a head start at ruining the game.
