Instead of bringing you to town, you are transported to the queens chamber in the apex. I like it. (You are obviously, immediately sacrificed for here beauty)

If it's possible to get to level 2, what happens?... Or is there really no value in corrupting this gem. |

Levels above 1 on Portal gem have no effect, tested with Empower. You can however get more quality on it for faster casting.
Unarmed for life! (although I do like maces too recently)

Level 2 portal gem has no level requirement.

Ah wow, didn't even see that. So what does Portal lvl 3, 4, 5 etc get?
