Finding lost Effects

Okay, the problem is fairly straightforward:

A huge number of stash tabs and items. A handful of dead Nemesis characters.

I'd like to reclaim all of my effects, but first I've got to find the items/gems that they are on. Is there any easy way to do that? Aside from the obvious, looking at thousands of items?

Any thirdparty tool (PoE helper like or anything, really)?

There currently isn't a way to do this apart from just looking the old fashioned way. Support can help you out if you send an email to support@grindinggear.com, but sometimes it can take a while and doing a few is easier than doing everything.
