Can't load game since patch; error loading file on start up.

When I try to open the game the rechecking resources window appears for a few seconds then dies leaving behind this error:
 This is probably patch related since this is the first time I've opened the game since the patch was installed. Please help, I can't play. Last edited by Jigokuro on Jan 30, 2014, 12:41:46 PM

Fixed it by unistalling and reinstalling. That, however, took like 3 hours; thus I continue to ask if there is a better fix for the sake of others.
