Possible Bug - Notifications from friends

I'm not sure how to reproduce this, but I believe when the server has a number of disconnects in the friends list the propagation of the status messages "xxx logged in/out" to the remaining connected individuals is flooding other clients and causing disconnects, or possibly the broadcasting of new status messages, in the cases that the linking of groups of friends that automatic update others, it is being checked so that the messaging is "atomic" and not causing runaway infinite circular messaging patterns, causing others to disconnect?
