An unexpected disconnection has occurred

I get kicked off the server every 30 seconds to 5 minutes with the error an unexpected disconnection has occurred, its not my internet, ive disabled my firewalls and antivirus software, im using a wired connection, i tried all 3 different regions, ive tried using a VPN, im launching it using steam. does anyone have any suggestions? the game is completely unplayable at this state, i cant even explore the second zone because of the disconnects.

good luck, im 2 weeks into the same exact issue. ive already exhausted all help from GGG, they currently told me nothing is wrong on their end, ive ran endless tests and changed every setting or firewall or anitivirus. i have a higher end gaming pc and currently play 3 to 4 games all which run flawless. i am also trying to troubleshoot it through a IT forum and all leads end up to nothing so far. im a regular guy just trying to play path of exile, i have went above and beyond to get this game running with no result, not even 1 person can tell me remotely what the issue is and it is frustrating as hell. if you come up with any solution please keep everyone informed.

" Actually... no. I don't see any real connection issue to so speak.. not one that would cause a disconnection. Was this trace running/capturing when you experienced the disconnect? If so, then I would say your disconnect is either local PC related or Server related (I usually lean toward PC first since it's most commonly the cause). The causes for a PC related disconnect could be Antivirus or Firewall type software.. anything which can interfere with the network traffic. This includes (but not limited to) K9 Web Protect, ESET, MSE, etc. If this trace was NOT running when you experienced the disconnect, then I recommend running another one and just let it run in the background while you play... then when you experience the disconnect, let it continue to run until you've successfully reconnected. Stop the trace and post the results again. | |

the issue and advice your being given are 100% spot on to my issue. im now 3 weeks in to troubleshooting and ive realized my display drivers crash causing my game to freeze then i disconnect and my display drivers recover.......just out of curiosity what video card and drivers are you running

MUAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHA 3 weeks of hourly trouble shooting and it WAS the graphics drivers, screw all these people who act like they know what they are talking about and insist improper help upon the unknowing IM BACK IN POE PEACE OUT FORUMS!!!!!! BTW i bought a cheapie vid card and boom im good to go.

I had the exact problem and noticed that I just installed a program called K9 Web protection on our family computer to then realise that it was kicking me off PoE. Hope that gives you a bit of certainty. Cheers |

I live in a place that doesn't have access to true broadband service. I use Sprint 3g. It works if I use my AT&T phone with tethering but not if I use the sprint service. I play quite a few online games and they all handle my mediocre latency just fine. I don't see what makes this game any different.
