Slow download, and I can't use TPB. Help?

Downloading at 0.3kb/s, and i have over 5GB to download.
Had to re-format the computer last night and lost it >:

Any way to speed it up? I'm in the UK so I can't get onto the torrent on The pirate bay

It maybe related to your firewall or background programs. Since you re-installed Windows, are you sure that there are no missing updates left?

What I like to do when nothing helps, is to run the computer in safe mode with networking (ethernet connection required). I have no clue yet, if the client download will work there but it is worth a try. You can start the system in that mode by hitting F8 right after the BIOS message disappears upon boot-up. Then you will be asked in which mode you want do boot the computer. Select Safe mode with networking. The game will definitely not run in there, but hopefully download and install. Once done (or not), just reboot the computer and windows will start in normal mode.
