[1.0.4] Flame Totem Lightning Trap Witch (HC viable?)

Hi there! First of all, thank you for your interest in my guide. I really appreciate it and maybe I was able to inspire you for your own adaptation or spin-off of my build.

This will be really Text-Heavy but there will be a TL;DR section at the end. I'll add videos and images later on, but only when I get into endgame with this build as it would be stupid to show you how insane my build can kill Cruel Vaal in Domination. (which I haven't done as of now.)

NOTE: This might be possible with a Templar aswell, but I started witch. Feel free to try and tell me how it goes!

What does this build try to accomplish?

The basic premise is easy - I wanted to create a build that is fun to play (AKA no spam-1-Button-and-win build and also no Discharge/RF because those are overused and overpriced), which can be completly played with selffound gear, which is safe and does great damage.

Also: This is 100% Newbie-friendly. The only things I ever traded are some support gems and while I do level together with a friend who most of the times tanks all the stuff, I am pefectly capable of handling content myself.

Since thorns and reflect are big problems and because I love totems, I was quickly looking at...Well...Totems.

I looked for different logical combinations and found several to my liking, but none could surpass the crazy flamethrower that is Flame Totem.

Incinerate totem might have a better spread and thus clear a wider area some might say...I'll post images later on which show the difference as it isn't even that big and I think Flame totem's perfectly fine for singletarget and AoE.

Ok, fine and all, but I wanted to get the best DPS and safety out of this spell. The easiest way to accomplish the first one was logical to me: Shock stacks!

And GGG recently introduced us to one of my new favorite abilities: Lightning Trap!
You throw down a trap, it explodes into many different projectiles. Only shocks with conductivity though, so get that!

Dominating Blow, albeit a tad clunky, is the most fun I've had in PoE.

Other gems in use are:
Clarity for manareg
Arctic Armor for defense
Lightning warp for penalty free moving around with arctic armor.

Gem-Linking

Most of these are no-brainers, but here it goes in order of importance.

Flame Totem->Greater Multiple Projectiles->Faster Projectiles/Faster Casting/Life Leech->Lesser multiple Projectiles.

NOTE: Faster Projectiles, Faster Casting and Life Leech are all 3 really useful gems and in combination are insane, but if you only have a 4 link, it is situational which gem you want to use in which situation. Usually I use Flame Totem, GMP, Faster Projectiles and Faster casting, but in several situations there's only melee enemies and you might aswell use LMP.

Also a little hint from myself: Get an itemrarity gem and switch it with Faster casting while farming or get a culling strike Trap for that.

Explanation:
Spoiler
Like Barrage, Flame totem doesn't spread its projectiles out in a cone shape when you give it Greater or Lesser Multiple Projectiles. This is quite hilarious as the totem shoots very rapidly - in my case about 17-18 times per second.

Now...Everytime the totem casts, it shoots out 5 projectiles. 5*17=85.
85 Projectiles per second. That's quite insane if you ask me.

Now, while the totem doesn't completly spread the projectiles, it does have a little inaccuracy as it sometimes shoots slightly off to the left and right of its target.
For big bosses like Vaal this is absolutely irrelevant.
For small bosses, it's not a big DPS loss.

And for AoE targets, this is pretty boss. The spread doesn't come close to incinerate's crazy fan of fire, but it's big enough to hit a huge amount of enemies.

Life Leech is interesting - as soon as your flame totem deals enough damage or your Life Leech is high enough in level, your totems will heal themselves quite ridiculously. My totem could easily outsustain Merveil and it didn't have any inc. resistances or anything.
NOTE: Flame totem needs to leech atleast 1 HP or it won't leech anything.
...What?
Easy - your totem needs to deal enough damage so that life leech leeches atleast 1HP - PoE doesn't have any numbers underneath 1, which makes its use mainly for level 40-50+. You can easily test this by using life leech and looking at your totems health and whether or not it's increasing.

And for people who didn't know: Faster Projecitles also increases the range of projectiles...Which is good, since Flame Totem doesn't have a huge range! Why does it do that? Not really important, but interesting to know...
Spoiler
Projectiles in PoE have a determined "alive" time. Let's say this is 1 second. If the projectile travels over half the screen in 1 second, it will then disappear. This means that if you make the projectile fly faster - for simplification 100% - it will then travel twice the distance to the edge of the screen and after 1 second is over, it will THEN disappear.

Lightning Trap

Lightning Trap->Elemental Proliferation->Multiple Traps[->Added cold damage/Lightning penetration]

Explanation:
Spoiler
You clicked on the 2nd explanation! You must be someone who likes to read. I like that. Have a virtual cookie.
This is quite easy and short though - Ele-prolif will proliferate [AKA transmit] shockstacks over to all nearby enemies. Multiple traps will give you more traps and thus more possible shockstacks. For extra survivability, use added cold damage. This is optional, I'm perfectly fine without it, but with that and maybe a 3rd curse unique, you might be able to freeze, shock and incinerate enemies. If you don#t use ACD, I don't really know what else to use - maybe Lightning penetration for longer lasting shockstacks. I need to try triplecursing somewhen, so LP is the way to go.

Gameplay
Throw out both curses, throw down your totems and then spam your traps. Enemies will proliferate those shockstacks and melt to your Pyromaniac Wood carvings. Works like a charm, both singletarget and AoE.

I hope this guide could give you a quick overview over my plans. I had quite a problem with editing this, I don't know why but it just killed everything I wrote and then opened a bracket saying newline. I have no idea what that means. I'm still planning on improving this build in many ways, so any kind of criticism is appreciated.
Well, have a good one!
