Game logs out when minimized (fullscreen), How to turn off?

Title basically says it all. I play PoE at 1440x900, fullscreen and when I minimize the screen and restore it again, the game stays black for a little with the mouse still useable, and then I appear back at the login screen. I haven't tested whether this occurs in window mode.

Does anyone else have this same issue? I'd like to turn this off but I don't see anything in any of the option screens to do so.

The game sends a heartbeat signal to the server, so that you don't get killed while you are having network trouble basically. When you change resolutions like that, it seems to stall your computer long enough so that it doesn't send the heartbeat signal. Thus you get logged out whenever you freeze for longer than about 9 seconds doing things like this. In the future there will probably be an option to raise this heartbeat signal length, and maybe have it disabled while in the video options menu, but for now, it's unavoidable.
