Sweep or Ground Slam
Which is more effective for a melee build at higher difficulties, sweep or ground slam? I seem to remember that in beta, sweep was gimped. With sweep, does getting surrounded by mobs mean a quick death?

leap slam + multistrike + faster attacks + conc effect. add blood magic/life leech/melee phys/added fire/whatever depending on your links and passives. ground slam aoe is small and you get beat up standing in place by charging/leaping mobs, sweep is bad because you have to get in the middle to do your damage so you can get surrounded and swarmed. leap slam will have you jumping all around the screen so fast and knocking everything back the mobs barely even hit you, easy way in and easy way out.

I tried leap slam before and hated the constant jumping around. Is that really the only viable option for endgame?

I prefer Ground Slam, the base attack speed of Sweep is extremely slow and I like the added range of Ground Slam even though you're not attacking 360°.
I have a stun-build with it that works really well. Have about 10k dps with it but the weapon is pretty mediocre(~250dps). And chargers are no problem when you stun them mid-charge =P IGN Hardcore: Muppman

Is there a way to increase the distance and width of ground slam?

" Any kind of increased area of effect will increase the distance, it won't increase the width though, unless you count on the increased distance(you attack in a cone-like area so you hit a wider area the further the attack reaches). You don't really need much though, I'm just using the templar nodes and it still reaches pretty far, though if you wanna attack the end of your screen you probably need stuff like the support-gem and/or Carcass Jack..
