nVidia laptop card (650m) not detecting, forcing to integrated .. tried every fix, no luck!

I have searched high and low and tried every solution I've come across so far and nothing seems to work. I have an nVidia 650m graphics adapter and intel HD 4000 integrated. I'm running Windows 8.

I've tried making a new executable and creating a new nvidia profile. I've also tried right-clicking to force the graphics adapter to the correct one, and I've tried updating the drivers. Nothing is working. Is there any other solution I'm missing? My BIOS does not allow me to disable the onboard graphics, nor should I have to even if I could...

Thank you in advance for any suggestions!

Oh yeah. Sorry ^^
Anyway it's the problem with Nvidia Optimus technology

I tried forcing use of my high spec graphics card in Nvidia control panel but when I choose PoE's "Client.exe" it is identified as Phantasy Star Online.

What I did:
*created a copy of "Client.exe";
*renamed it to something else ("poe.exe" in my case)
*forced use of high spec card on renamed .exe

*now I run the game through copied exe instead of official client.exe and it detects my graphics card just fine

Yes I already tried exactly this and it was not successful.
I'm sorry then, there's nothing more I can do to help, hopefully a dev will be able to help you out.

You don't even need to create a new client.exe. You can leave it detected as PSO2 and it'll work. (I am using 650M as well)

Just right click on your shortcut and select "high performance nvidia processor"

I'm doing that and it's not working. It still says it's using the HD 4000 when I get into the game. Is it a Windows 8 problem?
Are you sure that it isn't using the nVidia card, even though the game options will probably still say it is using the integrated card? Or is it still showing a poor framerate?

Rory, that might be the case, the frames seem to be hovering around 60 FPS with high settings (no antialiasing though). I guess maybe it's just a display issue, the game does run smoothly now.
