INFINITE DPS. The most broken build in the game. Why CoC should be Nerfed.

Notice the EK reaches and goes beyind the edge of the screen.

I thought about keeping this a secret but since i love this game and want to see its longevity I decided to post this so that everyone can try its awesomeness and to reveal some completely broken skill/gear mechanics.


First let me point out the key pieces of gear that make this build broken and why.


Quill Rain:Since the initial base damage of this build is irrelevant I chose this bow because of its speed but most importantly the Increased Projectile Speed.
Rat's Nest:Crit Chance
Maligaro's Virtuosity:Crit Chance
Gifts From Above:Crit Chance and because you will crit so much and so often the consecrated ground will keep you and your party alive better as well as more IIR.
Karui Ward: Increased Projectile Speed

The Increased Projectile Speed on both the bow and amulet are very significant in this build because they are Global Modifiers, making any projectile you fire/cast/attack with have more speed. More Projectile Speed = projectiles move faster and further and cover more area.

THE GEMS:
Barrage
Cast on Crit
Ethereal Knives
Ethereal Knives
GMP
Chain

Why CoC is Broken: You can use multiples of the same spell. Here we choose duel EK Gems to take advantage of its very high base damage. EK takes very little to do damage aside from gem level.
Why I use GMP and Chain: GMP adds projectiles to Barrage. With it linked, Barrage fires 10 projectiles. Every time I crit.... 20 thats right, Twenty casts of Ethereal Knives emit from my character and because I have such high Increased Projectile Speed They fire off screen. ;) Chain is used because when I crit the chain multiplies the number of EK's. Also, More chains = more chances to crit.

THE BUILD:

You may start in both the Ranger or Shadow areas. I chose to role-play a lesbian vs an emo kid with a hunched back.

it isn't a secret, everyone knows about it and everyone knows it's incredibly squishy.

your crit rate can't be that high with a 5% crit weapon so during those casts when you don't crit you're screwed.

also you have to sacrifice almost everything else to get good crit + crit multiplier from the tree


you have 2.3k life and no life leech, 1 hit GG

Alot of people dont know about the combination of barrage and CoC.... Do you have nothing better to do? lol what are you like 8 yrs old? plz.. go troll your mom for some more pie upstairs.

I am pretty sure GGG is aware of the value's when they release new skill gems, it is up to them to decide to leave them how it is or not.

Still i approve of this thread to give it more visibility.

But since the game has already been patched since the introduction of CoC, i think GGG does not consider it broken. Pretty much like the freeze gem abuse that has "recently" surfaced, it is "working like intended"


Edit : to posters above stating the low survivability rate, i agree i don't think this is actually hc viable and i consider that one of the reasons why it has not been patched. However i'm sure a hc variant can be made that uses imortal to bypass reflect issue's.

Maybe in merc fellshire. Almost everyone know about CoC and quill. Maybe barrage is a new twist but the concept is the same.

As mentioned the build is too squishy for any real end game use.
