GGG: Your System encourages RMT and Botting.
This isn't GGG's system, it's Diablo 2's system that worked just fine and still does. Diablo 3 is trying to avoid this by implementing BoA on all the good items, which certainly has its downsides.
If people resort to RMT because of boredom, they risk getting banned and are not likely to stick around for much longer anyway due to boredom. Last edited by Novalisk#3583 on Nov 24, 2013, 9:43:05 AM

While I agree that progression needs some looking at, I don't agree that it encourages RMT and botting. A lack of integrity is what leads people to those things. They'd do it regardless of how the game handled progression because they lack character and are generally dishonest people to whom being "better" than the next guy is more important than playing within the rules.

Sounds like you're just burned out, you seem to play A LOT so...that's expected. Also try to not farm the same places over and over again because as you noticed...it bores people out quickly.

" Again its not about me. I had the time to powergame, because my studies gave me the freetime to delay my studies for 2 weeks. Yes, in DOM, im kind of "burned" out. Im still MUCH enjoying Nemesis and Races. But IN MY OPINION the greater part of POEs population are playing for one "big" character in a non-harcore league, and they will sooner or later relate to RMT or Botting if their hard invested time puts out nothing to play with. http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1158669

" Completely false D2 was never balanced with an economy in mind. There was no economy in D2, and the devs didn't give 2 shits about any economy in D2. PoE is balanced with an economy in mind, "OP" builds are nerfed simply because they clear content too fast, drop rates get nerfed if they are able to be abused by bots, the game has an extremely artificially high gear check when you start getting into merc to try and halt inflation, etc etc In fact, the only other game that did this is D3, they realized its a dumb mistake and they are backtracking from it very fast PoE has turned into a trading simulator for the endgame, just like D3. |

I played D2 from release, I can say from a experience that Blizzard did a lot of nerfs in D2, some more severe than what GGG has ever done.
Example: Arkaine's Valor 1.08 to Arkaine's Valor 1.09+ Last edited by Novalisk#3583 on Nov 24, 2013, 4:05:43 PM

" Yeah, and the nerfs were nothing to do with D2's economy, you missed the central point of what I am saying, which is that D2 was never ever designed, or balanced, with an economy in mind, PoE is. And that is a starkling and massive difference. In PoE, most currency is generated by botters, and so PoE have started adjusting drop rates to account for this. They have also nerfed OP builds purely on the basis that they farmed too efficiently, because botters were using these builds to inflate the economy with currency. They have nerfed the drop rate of large chests, purely because of botters (D3 did the exact same thing with jars) The designers of D2 never intended for any economy. The game was multiplayer, but it was multiplayer for multiplayers sake (that is, being able to play online with friends and doing very limited trading, often when you party with friends and find an item you have no need for). Heck, the same people that made D2 made TL/TL2, and neither of those games had any economy either D2 is a game you can legitimately play self found, PoE is not. |

" Good for them. Let them live their lives, play the game as you want to play it and ignore them. Srsly, this is kinda dumb, just ignore other people, if they are pathetic enough to buy some gear sold with RL-money, that's their problem. Why do people always need to compare themselve to others ? -__-" I'll never get that I guess. Using RMT is only pathetic, at least you are not like that, just be proud of your char and let other people being pathetic. SSF is not and will never be a standard for balance, it is not for people entitled to getting more without trading. Last edited by Fruz#6137 on Nov 24, 2013, 4:17:09 PM

I more or less agree with the OP, fuck crafting in this game all I gotta say. While at it, screw trading as well, so much burn coming from trading.

" People use RMT because the game has the same amount of grind as a korean MMO, and most people can't spend 50 hours a week playing a game. Athena is right, PoE is a P2W game currently due to excessive grind and inability in most parts to play self found I have no idea why people shun RMT so much when its the fault of GGG for designing their game in such a way. Heck I even had the thought cross my mind, its either that or to stop playing Last edited by deteego#6606 on Nov 24, 2013, 4:19:06 PM
