Console "Wars"
" You are starting the argument with a false premise. Using an emulator for a video game is nothing like entering a property. Intellectual Property isn't the same as real estate, and software piracy isn't the same as trespassing or even bootlegging usually. The creator of software may very well have stated they wish to be paid for its use, just as the property owner wishes an entry fee, but disrespecting that wish is as far as the similarity goes in your comparison. There is no sale lost, there are no physical or monetary damages, there is no way for them to even know their rule has been disobeyed and thus no feelings of disrespect can be had. It's more like, the gallery charges an exorbitant entry fee to see the masterpiece. Most commoners don't want to risk a large portion of their income for something so frivolous, so they exchange the photographs of the painting, and enjoy it in their homes without the artist knowing. Perhaps they one day will see the original in the bright hues and deep textures, but it's more likely they will never be able to afford such luxury and are satisfied with their lesser experience. Should the gallery owners try to hound the little boys and girls who enjoyed their artwork? Should the children be sent to jail for passing around their photos of works which they did not have the skill to create or the money to legally enjoy? Is this really a moral dilemma to some?
