Router causes high latency flux

My house uses the internet on multiple cpu's. With that said, it has come to my attention that while plugged in the router, I get high latency issues which cause my character to miss(or not register the attack at all) and screen skipping or character position delay. This has resulted in many deaths, im happy im not playing hardcore.



I googled POE's ports and came across a thread stating that POE ports will not help, because they are not needed to be opened to play. I am wondering about trying anyway.

Would ports solve this issue being a high traffic household? Or should i just run without the router while i play? Or perhaps is there another issue involved here?
