Shock Duration is still based on Damage dealt versus target's Max Life. Fellows with high Life or simply overstacked Lightning Resists are not going to be Shocked, especially after the Damage reductions from Splash/MS (reduces ALD's damage by 45% or so).

Wrath with the inevitable Aura nodes is a great way to improve their Lightning damage though.

yeh, wrath works too.

Its worth mentioning that the minion damage nodes effect the lightning - from both added lightning and from wrath.

In order for this to work you would need plenty of those either way i think
And of course Added Lightning Damage max quality has a 10% chance to shock with a +20% to its duration.

The real issue I guess would be they'd need Penetration to do anything consistently, and all it's doing is shocking white mobs which you could do yourself with Arc. The zombies would benefit more from Hatred, Added Fire Damage, and Melee Physical Damage (They can use that, right?) since they have such high base physical damage. (A +300/450 base damage per vs the 100-125 Added Light/Cold offers, which more than offsets having no penetration.)
