Preseason races: Intetionally not giving level 8 race acheivement?

So I made a character for a preseason race yesterday (intelligently called LevelEightRaceAcheivement, and yes I misspelled achievement). However, when I reached level 8 I didn't get the race achievement, nor did I get it after the race ended. I'm just wondering if this is intentional for preseason races, a bug, or if I did something wrong.

Also, I checked the profiles of some other people from the race who got to level 8 and nobody seems to have the achievement.
