Really bad latency spikes.

I've been away from the game for a couple of months, due to study and real life.
I never had an issue with latency before, getting around 50ms. I logged in yesterday and am now getting nasty latency spikes of 800ms+, it will sit at the usual 50ms then spike and drop back down regularly. I only play Hardcore league and it's making things a little difficult, any suggestions? I'm based in the UK and am not having latency issues with any other games / programs. | |

First you should make sure nothing else is using your connection, e.g. torrents, other people on your LAN, or background downloaders (such as Pando). You should also try closing any torrent programs even if they're not currently downloading, as we've had reports that some of them can cause spikes like you described even when they're idle.
If the problem keeps happening, please download WinMTR and run it for at least 100 pings with eu.login.pathofexile.com as the "Host" while you are experiencing these latency spikes. Either post the output here or email it to me at support@grindinggear.com . | |

How could i do this to test my Ping on the america server i get random huge lat spikes and it often will d/c me to login screen?

Then you change the eu.login.pathofexile.com to us.login.pathofexile.com as the "Host"...
