Question about Blood Magic and Auras

Why would anyone who's build is based around the BM passive take an aura?

I'm pretty bad at math, but with 30% reserve reduction from passives, and 29% from reduced mana that's a 59% reduction right? So if I was to use Hatred (60% * (1-.59) = 24.60%) it would be 24.60% of my life right? So with 7.000 life, I now have 5.278.

Are there auras out there that give a flat amount besides Clarity?
because if you build an aura base character to buff the party and take the reduced reservation node get some unique and use the gem you actually have a really small reservation cost and can use multiple auras easily and still have a decent amount of health.

BM is only good for Auras or else the passive wouldnt have been behind it.

This calc can help you figure out what you're looking at in terms of aura cost.

That said, GGG made the changes to auras so that people couldn't run around with 5 auras up anymore. Instead they have to pick 1 or 2 and focus on them. That is also why they added some very nice aura enhancing passives.

As for blood magic, i see very little reason to actually get BM instead of just getting blood magic gems for your attacks and letting the auras use up your mana pool.

But if you want to, there are a lot of aura cost reducing passives in the tree. You have to go out of your way but the total reduction is substantial.
bm is shitty for auras when u playing solo at all. Health is too important cause even if u have capped resists u taking pretty nice damage so u need health to tank it. Anyway im using BM without auras and its fine anyway cause of those new gems like cast on damage taken or cast on melee kill cause i can put some gems into it like enduring cry, immortal call totems like devouring or flame with reduced mana supported them + some reduced mana cost of skills passives u not much health and with devouring, life gain on hit, life leech etc. your character is steady. I recommend BM at all.

If you run all the way around the tree, grabbing every possible aura node, and then use the Prism Guardian and the Alpha's Cowl... You can get the reservation cost of a single aura down to 8%

But your build would suck because you ran all the way around the tree grabbing all this instead of life nodes :P idk what they are thinking.

As far as I know they really ramped up the reserve cost on auras in a very recent patch.
it is unlikely you will find a selection of Auras that reserve small amounts of mana

it is also hard to scour the wiki and find the up to date info of each aura so close to the patch in which it was all changed...

I cant imagine a blood magic build taking any auras. it seems like a MASSIVE reduction to health. maybe there are a few uniques that make this type of thing work out perfectly?

Yeah I was planning on running at least one aura. But the life chunk it has is so massive that I'm thinking of not running any auras. I was planning to use BM since I'm going EA and it's pretty close to the fire passives I planned on taking.

I was just curious on whether it was even worth it to use auras with BM because of the passive directly after it. I guess I won't take BM passive and just run Clarity with BM gem and then Purity or something from my mana.
