Because she is well taught and as her intro on the ship says, she excelled in all aspects. Which fits with her character being able to do anything.

She is by far my fave char along with the ranger... I would love to play them together, at the same time, with both hands.

Sorry, but that info came directly from Maligaro's journal, something to which the Scion had no access before killing Fidelitas. It's simply poor scripting. ='[.]'=

An interesting, if loosely related, factoid: the female praying mantis is known for killing the male after mating. The Ancient Greek word "mantis" means "prophet". This might be purely accidental, but it strings quite nicely with the background of the scion.

My view: The Scion is a "prestige" character, in that it isn't available until you've beaten the game. In this way, I believe GGG has used the Scion as an expository character, to help players understand more about the story that they may or may not have understood the first time through.

Hence the exposition about virtually every boss and lore item in the game.
