Local Network DC when I launch the game

As I stated in the title my computer instantly disconnects from my LAN as soon as the login screen appear.

Just to further explain what happens I will ping -t a local website and launch the game...
this is the result:

As soon as the game finished loading and the login screen appeared the first Time out happened, then it gets worse and worse untill it gives up and disconnects. On this example I alt+f4 out of the game, as soon as the process is dead my LAN is healthy again.

I tried pretty much everything, I audited my LAN with every tool avaliable in Backtrack...
I can download torrents, play any other online game, watch videos... all at the same time, but as soon as PoE login screen appears my LAN dies.
Can you tell me your hardware specs? Are you actually able to log in and play the game, and what sort of framerate and latency do you get? (press F1 in game to see framerate and latency).

The only thing I can think of so far is if your computer is struggling to run the game and the load is causing your network to lag... it seems pretty extreme if this is the case though.
I have an i7 2600, 8gbram and a GTX560ti.
It's not performance related at all, I used to be able to play pretty well. My latency is 180ms and I never have any lag or low fps.

If my computer was struggling so much that a realtime process like the network controller would give up it would happen during load time, not when the login screen appears.

I launch the game, everything is fine...
Loading login screen, fine...
Login screen appears, not fine.

It's even more awkward because if I play using my laptop on the same network the game runs fine, it's not LAN/ISP related.

Hang on so if you actually log in and enter the game does your ping go back to normal? As in, it's *only* broken while on the login screen? Or is it broken while in game too?

I'd be curious to see what happens if you run the game on your desktop, and then ping your desktop from your laptop, and also ping 200.154.56.80 from your laptop.

Have you changed any hardware in your desktop recently, or reinstalled your OS or drivers or anything?

You could try checking if there are any drivers you need to install/upgrade (motherboard / CPU maybe?)... failing that if you could get your hands on an add-in network card it'd be worth testing with that as well.

Also what other games/programs have you tried this experiment with? It seems pretty strange if it's just PoE causing it.
I saw a bug similar to this years ago on a WinME system, turned out to be a faulty network controller.
HAIL SATAN!
