Caliga Imperatrix
I killed him on normal difficulty and haven't even attempted to kill him since then.
I'd wager on merc, 1 trap would probably kill me. The worm in the maze is pretty bad too. Especially when the balls start exploding, but it's doable. As I've said in the past, GGG really needs to tone elemental damage down. Baseline for late merc should be 50-60, not 79 max + flask or dead. |

What the hell
I haven't encountered Caliga until just now on my 3rd playthrough but she just killed me as 7-8 traps went off almost simultaneously that damage could have killed me 5 times over with 60% lightning resistance (not horrible) think im done for a while, I feel JIPPED |

The traps that explode for no reason are definitly some kind of bug.
Its just silly. Right now i level a new witch and on cruel it wasn't that cool to kite fine and then see the whole room filled with lightning bolts. Survived with like 1% HP (ofcourse HP because ES is broken to level with), and then finished this PoS. But still, feels like a bug. Trap that explodes without a fool = not cool! English is my third language, there will be bugs.

" Sounds right. I run right in doing my normal thing and Lightning Traps start going of in 3's out of nowhere. I just ran an unlucky path out of there, practically every trap hit me. There were still traps going off after I died, it was probably the most projectiles I've ever seen from the enemy side of things, in any difficulty, but this was in Normal. I'd be really surprised if there wasn't a bug with the amount of traps going off at once. I wish I had a video to show you guys. |

it dies to 10 fireballs but I found it 10 magnitudes stronger than anything I have met in the game, first thing I chain died to, even more than Dominus.

It kind of bugs me that Caliga has a unique item as its mechanic: not because it makes the fight fair or unfair, but because it doesn't make any sense to the typical player on encountering her the first time. It's likely to be the first and only time you'll see traps activating without being triggered, which is why it feels like a bug.
I'd even accept a "Traps activate if not triggered" description line on hover with her. I need to try the fight again on a dedicated melee build before I can really judge, (I was running a minion build this time, which I recognize is a problem in most AoE-heavy boss fights) but it was frustrating to not even know where in the room Caliga was and still have exploding lightning traps going off all over the screen. |

Issue is there are like 15 traps (she lays 5 times 3 traps (multitrap)) and than they all go off. 15 damn traps in one room is insane. One time I get to kill her, the other time it is impossible, can't seem to dictate this fight at all. I still haven't found out what actually stops the trap spamm (it does happen in both melee and ranged combat and than it also does not happen, lol), but I remember perpetus(spl?) being the exact same thing he use to and sometimes still does a never ending bear trap spamm. Something about the AI not liking the trap mechanics if you ask me.

what makes Caliga more dangerous than Dominus at times, is the fact she spawns in a small space.
Dominus has a huge arena to run around in, while Caliga's small room tends to get very crowded very quickly. the most effective method I found for dealing with her, is flicker right to her and kick the crap out of her. I get hit with 3-4 traps, but it's far from the closed-quarters "light show" you have to deal with otherwise. still, not everyone can melee, and GGG really should take it into account. those traps need to go off only when you step on them, or alternatively she needs to have a cooldown when throwing them. Caliga can only throw 6 traps. If she throws more they go out.
Caliga could use a affix indicating she has the suntrap belt. Caliga also occasionally glitches, and the traps instantly explode if you step on even one. I mean all 3 traps in the set will go off simultaneously. She's a bit quirky, but she's balanced. Fix that one glitch and give her a more informitive flavor text, and everything would be cool.
