you can build ranger exactly like you would build marauder or even deulist.

so if ranger is worthless so are the other 2.

Sure I lost 10% dps coz I cant have 4 auras. But I gained more HP, better acrobatics, and can now shoot sustainably coz they reduced split arrow cost so the leech + regen is just enough. Before I considered going BM after 1.0 hits just to sustain fire, but with this I don't need to.

So if you feel you are underpowered now, it may be u did not rly consider the new tree and all the combinations u have. Just copying old builds will not cut it perhaps, even tho the ranger part was not changed, due to changes in aura mechanics.

You are very lucky with that bow. Try finding another one like that for sale or something :) Most of us are runing Lioneye's and can go pure physical dmg with evasion because we cannot evade reflect done from Lioneye's so we have to go iron reflexes and armor and that takes a bunch of nodes, not to mention that blood magic has been moved to the other far end of the tree wasting even more points for us (me at least) and it is very hard (not even viable) to take mana nodes, mana regen nodes AND armor nodes, BM etc. You can't have it all, it's either armor + BM or mana + evasion + bow like yours.

To people reading this and wondering, I know his bow, he has pure physical thicket bow with 300+ dps so he can evade reflect and run tons of crit on split arrow. It is very very good, but getting that kind of bow is not easy :P I am quite jelly of his bow :P

PS. Can Dominus even be done with ranger? I mean, sure it can, but with what build? I almost died to dominus in normal difficulty with my ranger, that bleeding....(I have 4800HP)

Changing build means you probably have to change gear. Not everyone is that rich, it's as simple as that.

And yes I'm an old 50 years old casual player, what a pity, no time to farm all day long. And no time to play in groups with my Schedule.

But I know the blame's on me, playing a lazy BM LA Ranger. Bad move. I'm the weakest link.

sure dominus can be done with ranger
blood fog does % dmg based on your HP, so its practical the same on normal and on merc

get in the bauble and tank dominus like a real man (he hit like a wuss).

The entire Scepter of Tower area is a giant FU to bow-evasion builds.

1. The Farshot mod
2. The bubble shield
3. The magic-circle physical spell

All of these factors from 1 mob - the Undying Evangelist.

I've never seen a mob that completely counters an entire build on so many counts.

Other than that, I'd say armored-rangers are still fine, and Dominus is quite doable.

There are 11 rangers in the invasion top 100, despite some of those (3 I think) are dead, there's also lots of other dead characters in the top 100 so the sample is good. It's slightly on the low end.

But not nearly as bad as Shadows, who still only have 5 in the invasion top 100 and 3 of them are dead (2 living shadows in the top 100, 60% mortality rate thus far). I honestly thought with the buffs shadows would move up a bit, but they actually got worse.

Yeah, rangers aren't doing all that bad.

This is exactly what I've been talking about. This guy represents many of my old friends that had played PoE and left due to low currency drops, XP loss, and build nerfs. Many players like this guy who I enjoyed playing left the game because some snot nose kid or full time streamer who lives in his mother's basement can farm endlessly spouts off comments like "Learn to not die" or "Not everyone should get to L100" to casual players who are also a big part of the community. IF you want to truly promote the future of PoE then embrace these players and help them rather than bark this game is not for you or bragging yourself up by down talking to them. To the people that respond like this you should be ashamed of yourself. Peekop add me to your friends list Sir, I'm 39, and I'll help you any way that I can.
