UI map shows only x's and npc names.

I downloaded POE last week and everything worked fine (including the tab-map), but when I updated my intel HD graphics driver to version 8.882.2.3000, my map will only show character x's and the npcs on it. this includes the map in the upper right corner if i choose to try and enable it.

If I randomly make changes to my graphics settings in game and then hit the tab button, the working map will show briefly and then disappear permanently again. I tried uninstalling and re-installing the game, but that didn't work.

I tried to find and then install catalyst control center as previously suggested in this thread: http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/82124/page/1 but for whatever reason, when I try to install the complete AMD package that says it includes CCC, it won't show up on my computer.

here are my specs: HP pavilion dv6 notebook pc OS: win 7 64 bit, 8 gig ram, i7-2630QM processor, Mobile Intel HD graphics, Radeon HD 6770M (both have been updated within the last week)

2 weeks before installing POE on my computer for the first time, I had installed Nvidia PhysX on my computer in order to play an older game, Sacred 2. Not sure if this relevant, but as I mentioned, the tab and corner maps worked fine for me at first until i updated my intel hD graphics driver. If anyone has any ideas or solutions, I'd greatly appreciate the help. thanks.

Jason, thanks for the quick reply. I tried disabling those options as you requested, but again, it just briefly showed the functional map before it vanished completely after I made those changes. I'm assuming this is tied to either some sort of radeon issue or an issue with laptops that have both intel graphics card and radeon graphics card since there seems to be those common factors from the old thread: http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/82124/page/1

I have a number of other games installed on my computer currently that have no graphical issues including D2 which has the similar tab-function onscreen map.
