Is Lighting strike still viable?

Again, you proved nothing, and as i said at the start of this pointless argument, axes are better for LS, everyone who can do 4th grade maths and think properly knows this, i have no idea how can anyone consider swords to be better for a LS RT build.

They are the same speed, axes do more damage, swords have a accuracy implicit mods which are useless for RT builds, and even non RT builds because there are very good axe damage/acc nodes anyway.

Just think about it, look at the numbers and the advantages/disadvantages, its not that hard man...

I recently tested out all kinds of skills with Soul Taker, BoR and overall Block setup.

Lightning Strike was by far the of them. The problem isnt the damage since it shock quite reliably if you run AL + Static Blows and get up to 30% shock chance on L-damage but it so god damn inferior to anything that uses Melee Splash that it simply isnt an option.

Killing single mobs its faster tham Dominating and Infernal Blow, but holy shit killing big packs with it still is painful.

I guess it still has its place, somewhere. But for endgame there are way better choices.

One hander and shield setup with block passives
As you can see most attack is elemental. Hes using soultaker but still most attack is elemental.

You don't need 8-9k life for end-game and you don't need Kaoms for a life build.

I can't help but wonder how people with less life/ES make it that far and still do just fine. Not many things are going to 1-shot you unless it's Temple Piety with ridiculous mods.


I ran a 2h Sword Duelist with LS and Terminus Est. The end result was a ridiculously stupid APS and no possible way to maintain it even with Slitherpinch, Wurms Molt, and Mana Leech.

And again, I was pointing out the use for each type of 2h weapons, NOT for 2h weapons in general(which is obvious, either kaoms or two 6 links/5links), i'm still pretty baffled at why he replied with that in the post...

Terminus is complete garbage for anything except for cruel/merc content... Lol - no wonder you don't have a clue on what's going on.
