thats debatable, im a realist, but i always escaped reality at my first chance in the day, and ill probably still do it.

The question is - how far would you go pursuing that escape.

as far as i feel like to be honest, when im bored of it or start feeling sick i stop, brake until im up for it again then go on another one if i feel ok with myself to do it, i stayed days on end without sleeping at festivals, drank days on end in my town, fought, ran from the popo etc, did a lot of stupid shit aided by substances, did pretty much everything actually when it comes to the imbecilic things you do when you're young, and i regret nothing i did, it was very fun.

ive gotten slightly bored of that kind of escapism in these last 2 years though, now im a bit more relaxed, i trip at home or someone elses home, go on a hike or caving now and again, relax and figuratively escape :)

POE is a beautiful distraction.

I'm only a casual player who plays for fun. I play as a reward for getting through the daily grind. Balance is the key.

Nice try Jesus, but I'm not falling for your shit.

I'm not Jesus.

Putting shit in all your sentences is not what smart people use to do.

I think PoE is a very well polished game, as WoW, I love games, my post was just a kind of "think by yourself and ask yourself questions", I'm not even a preacher and certainly not a spambot.

I think PoE is one of the most novative game on the market (skill tree, etc... but not lags lol), I'm just in a mood I feel I'm loosing time crushing mobs for hours...

Keep your shit in your body, gently drop it in a decent place and please, never mix shit and love, you're hurting people and even yourself.

Nothing to hide, I'm just a man asking himself : are these games good for mental health ?
(chess and scrabble are IMO, but H&S...)
Stupid people think you are stupid although they don't know you, anyway, they will never be able to...

@OP

This might be true in some instances. But there's really no medicin like computer games for escaping a stressed exam period for an hour or two.

Computer games can be a hobby like anything else. I don't believe that being obsessed with your hobby always is a sign that you have a bad period in your life.
There is a difference between an addiction and not having anything to do. If someone is putting off hanging around with friends, family, school then yeah theyre harming themselves in doing so. This is an addiction issue, usually hereditary but can be learned from social behaviors. This game is like any other game, and the people who abuse it are just the same addicts.

The game is not responsible for who plays it, just like a gun is not responsible for who uses it.
It's not about living an exciting life it's about being at peace with what you chose to do with your time. In 100 years everyone in this thread will be dead and it won't make a damn difference what you do with your life.
Compulsive gaming has happened regardless of the nature of the game, while loot based games tend to draw these people in easier (due to them sweet skinner boxes), it's not the game's fault.

I get what you're trying to say, but any issue that might send people into escapist trips on games is not created by the game, it was already there before.

Just think of how much someone who truly is in a bad mental place would improve after quitting a game, it will be nothing if not worse, the issues and what caused this person to escape are still there.
