best stealth games?

i havent been able to find any really good ones lately apart form the ones ive already played (which are old games like thief 1,2,3, commandos, deus ex, splinter cell chaos theory, hitman games)

A new release of Thief is on the way. I never cared much for the original, but this looks interesting.

Mirror's Edge was kind of stealthy no? Either way I think Assassin's Creed has probably been the best game I've played...Batman is fun but I'm not sure how much of it is really "stealth". My biggest issue with stealth games is the "if you're seen its over" concept. It's like if I'm seen I should be able to fight. Stealth should always be an "option" not a must. Mirror's Edge had a few levels on it where if I think you were seen it was done...

Personally I'm really digging the stealth in Payday 2. It really makes it feel tense as well since as soon as you break stealth the game severely punishes you.

Mark of the Ninja is one of the absolute best stealth games in years.
Stealth Bastard is pretty nice too, and Gunpoint is lovely. |

I've read Dishonored is supposed to have really nice stealth aspects. It's actually been mentioned with Thief in the same breath and that made me buy the game. I haven't played it yet because I can't stop playing POE.

I REALLY enjoyed Silent Storm. For some reason, this game is not very popular, but GOD DAMN it is good! It is like Jagged Alliance x5!
