Cheese definitely goes in the door of my parent's fridge. The compartment at the top of the door is even clearly labelled "cheese".

The only thing I've ever seen that matches your description of "LITTLE DRAWER IN THE UPPER PART" in any fridge I've used is the butter conditioner, which is definitely not intended for cheese.
