Failed to Join Instance Because Disconnected from server
 I was doing a lvl 63 Overgrown Shrine Map as a summoner when I got disconnected from the server. I had been trying to make a public party, which didn't work because it said I wasn't online but I was. I took a few steps and BAM, gone. When I relogged in, I could not enter my portals, got the error message, a bud couldn't enter em either. Maaaaan, that was my last 63 map and I burned 20+ alts, 2 chisels and a regal :( Death to ze bugs! Last bumped on Aug 19, 2017, 4:50:15 AM

That sounds painful! Hmm, are you able to remember the exact time when this happened? (You can find that info in your Log file in the Path of Exile folder)
Also, if you know the exact mods on the map, that'd help. Did you get the crash just after you clicked the "Make party public" button, or hit enter to name the party? Balance & Design

" I wasn't either of those, I had given up on trying to make the party and took a few steps, might have picked up an item or something. Is the log file the client.txt file? Or is it in the DebugTerrainGeneration folder? The mods were... um... Maze, elemental equilibrium (I think), and something else. Sorry, kinda forgot em. |

It'll be the client.txt file. If we're lucky, we'll be able to see some info on the map from where it is mentioned in the client.txt file.

Turns out this wasn't a crash, the instance just timed out (lost connection to the master) and then failed to exit.
Normally if an instance times out it should close immediately, rather than hang around telling the player they're not logged in. We suspect there may be a problem with how the instance was told to close, so we'll fix that. The "Failed to join instance" message is what happens when you try to join an instance that no longer exists (e.g. by trying to enter a portal that used to lead to it). This might be changed/improved in future e.g. by closing the portals if the instance no longer exists. After investigating the cause of the instance timing out, it appears it was actually my fault. I happened to be doing some testing on the server your instance was on which overloaded the server a bit and made it lose a few instances (about 20 total). On the bright side it did uncover a bug, and I learned another way to upset the servers (best to learn that in beta, right? X_x). Still, I'm very sorry for the loss of your instance, and I hope it didn't tarnish your enjoyment of the game. | |

I just tried to enter the Western Forest for the first time and got kicked to Login screen with the Failed to Join Instance error. I tried 3 times to enter this and each time I was kicked back to the Login screen. I tried using Xontrol Left Mouse click and it didn't work either.
This error has been around a very very long time and it hasn't been fixed. If it isn't then I can't play this game and a lot of others getting the same error can't. I have to do something3 times or more so I can complete the area simply because I have to start over so many times. I know this is beta but this error is a big one that isn't being taken seriously it seems. I have no problems with any other game I play, just this one. I've tried changing the video, installing new NIC drivers, changing settings on my router, excluding game in antivirus, firewall etc. Nothing works and so far I haven't found any suggestions to fix it. About ready to write this game off. |

I was soloing a cemetery map and went to type a message in global, all of a sudden got an unexpected error disconnect without any lag or anything leading up to it. Logged back on and all the portals were still there but when I tried to enter the portal would just disappear and give me the exact same error. Nothing else about my connection disconnected and I haven't had anything even close to similar happen to me before today. I tried another map to see if I could replicate it but it didnt happen so I did another map and this next time it reoccurred. I'm not sure what triggers it and I don't mind losing the maps, just would like to know if something needs to be fixed before I do any maps of real value.

Just happened to me TWICE 5 minutes in the map... I lost two lvl 71 maps...
