Kiwi here.
Earthquakes were in Wellington, GGG is based in Auckland. There was a 6.2 with various aftershocks. (the magnitude is strange for these, different numbers being thrown around, so this might not be accurate) http://geonet.org.nz/quakes/all They were felt by some people/places in Auckland though. No reports on casualties/injuries just yet, I wouldn't expect there to be any deaths from these. Though there may be some injured. Reportin' in - all is well @ GGG HQ.
Welly looks like it got quite the shake up though: http://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/article.cfm?c_id=1&objectid=10913399 They're reporting the magnitude as 6.6 as well. I hope everyone in Welly remains safe and manages to get some sleep; they've had a bunch of aftershocks :( |

" Interesting, we are actually pretty close. 305 should give you an idea where I live. ;) Hopefully, no one got hurt from the earthquake. Always a devastating event when one occurs. :( Sometimes you can take the game out of the garage but you can't take the garage out of the game.
