About D3 release you asked me my sources, in fact you can guess it from Activision "2011 games planing".
D3 is not mentioned. I think the release will occure in early or mid 2012. About D2 extension, thats weird I dont find back my source. But it's not "stupid". You can see from the begining that Blizzard updated D2 very much. Remember the update that implemented Torchs? That's quite an update and it occured in 2009 if my memory doesnt fail me. Moreover, updating a game at this time to implement a lil something is a good way to make cheap advertising. Last thing is that they mysteriously renamed 2 mercs by the last update. And many ppl think that there is a link before the mini extension to come and this event. | |

The only thing that could kill the game, sort of, is putting players in teams at random - not taking previous gameplay achievements into consideration, which creates "noob" teams, where good players lose too many matches - and nerves. With one team consisting of 5 good players and 10 tards, and other with 10 good players and 5 tards, many more mathces are required for 1st team good players to upgrade tanks than it would be neccessary if both teams are balanced.
