Buying Items HC League in the 1st town

I attempted to buy a "Orb of Augmentation", I believe, so that that I could purchase an item which required an Orb of Augmentation as the cost.

The glitch or "problem" is that the single Orb of Augmentation from the npc - Costs 4 (four) Orb's of Augmentation.

I'm not sure if the costs are randomized or something, but an item should never have as it's cost 2 or more of that same item. It does not help gameplay and makes no sense.
