⚡ Haunt's Pure Elemental Wander 🔥
" Oh look, another useless comment, i'm sorry your wander only deals 8k dps. . . =X I dont see anything wrong with sharing a Glass canon wander, i have a lot of players following my build already. I have some comments and criticism about the build that maybe you are willing to discuss.
First off, there isn't a pros and cons section. I feel that this is very essential in writing guides because it describes the playstyle pretty accurately. This was my first wander build and this guide definitely tries to make it sound better than it is rather than admitting its downfalls and being informational. Maybe this is just a showcase thread, in which case im wrong but if you're trying to make it a guide then it's one or the other. In my opinion glass canon builds are generic and easy to make because you aren't using any unique mechanics just getting high damaging items and picking crit and damage nodes. Anybody with basic PoE skill building knowledge can already create a build like this since you don't use any unique mechanics or try anything new it's just generic ele crit. Since intermediate players can easily do this on their own already, the point of this thread should be to either guide new players which it does not and is biased or showcase to regulars, in which case there are higher DPSing builds out there already. Now onto the survivability. It's a glass canon build, anybody with some basic PoE skill building knowledge should be able to tell that right off the bat from how much you emphasize your damage in the introduction and for sure after seeing the skill tree. The nature of power siphon means you're a pain in the ass to map with because nobody gets flask charges and dedicated MF cullers can't outcull you and you have no room for good IIR/IIQ. This means you're better off soloing and can't plink away in the back like in a party which is suitable for glass cannons. When you are doing maps and areas that are small and its CQC you have to take damage. When enemies are hasted, you're doing haste maps or the enemy just naturally runs fast I have to take the damage some of the time because you can't always one shot them in time or they're ranged or they're flying goats. This means your other option is to kite which is a pain and ends up being slower and less reliable than sacrificing some dps for hp. With your movespeed in the negatives from the wake of destruction kiting is only viable with adrenaline flasks. I respecced into your hc build and it felt a lot more viable. I may sound too obsessed over survivability for a softcore build but in my opinion endgame is boring and tiresome when you have to worry about getting one/two shot by almost any rare/magic mob pack and you die a lot. And normally I don't have a problem with glass canon builds but with one that isn't cheap and is very gear dependant, endgame viabilty is definitely something I need to keep in mind. Suggestions, as I brought up that I think this build is generic and didn't try anything new or use unique mechanics for a wander. -Elemental equilibrium. You mention not wanting to grab cold damage. Cold snap + ele prolif + 20/20 increase aoe gem will both improve your survivability and dps and its only 2 nodes away. Since this build is better off soloing there are no people to piss off using it which is one of its biggest downsides. -Decoy totem/spell totem + summon skeleton. This isn't trying anything new but great on ranged especially with faster casting so it's less of a clear speed crutch. Last edited by Phaesol#3012 on Sep 1, 2013, 4:07:40 AM

" I added a pros/cons section, it may look like a showcase and maybe you are right but i'm showing off my build and i'm giving informations on how to build it and which items to use. It's up to you to make use of it as an example or some players just want to confirm which nodes to get and which items because they arent sure. I may not be the best guide writer but in my opinion what i shared is pretty much the build itself i dont see what else i can say to make people understand the basics of it. It is very easy to understand since like you say i dont use ''uniques''. But in the same time getting the right rares is quite hard since it is extremely gear dependant. I dont really need to write 10 sentences to explain downfalls of this buid, everyone knows that any glasscanon build will be squishy and that is the main downfall. I dont really understand why you think this guide does not guide new players into building an elemental wander dpser, you can clearly see all the nodes in the tree to get and it's very straight lined, also. This build is not really new player friendly, the tree is easy to create but the really hard part is the gear and this is why i explain a lot which item and mods to get, so i dont think a lot of new players will choose this as a first timer. Most of the people that will try this already have a good amount of currency to buy the required items and they want to try a huge DPS build. I think what i wrote already explains well how to build it and like you said it's already very easy to understand so anyone should be able to start one easily. As for the survivability, it's exactly the same for any other glass canons, of course you are gonna be squishy. It's your choice to either decide to follow my softcore big dps build or choose the hc build to have more life and survive more. As for how i survive into maps i usually map with friends without mf culler or we choose someone who will last hit the boss with iiq/iir. You have to understand that when you deal so much elemental damage mobs will rarely reach you, even with haste, i always shoot from a far distance and i always have MS flasks ready to kite. I'm used to 1 shotting rares so imagine a pack of blues or whites, it's just like slicing tru butter, even unique bosses are very easy to kill with that much DPS. I like your idea of elemental equilibrium but i get far more dps from crit nodes or attack speed nodes that i'm gonna get later levels down to finesse node. So it would actually be a decrease to my dps since i'd have to remove other dps nodes. Also, it kinda sucks have to cast that shit every time considering my cast speed is not so high. The taunting totem or skeleton is a good idea also, i wish i could run it in my gear but man do you realize im already full of auras and i have a singletarget and aoe. I find myself doing good into maps, i do high level ones without a real problem, ofc i wont run ref maps tho. I'm always aware that i can encounter reflect, but surprisingly i can tank a rare mob that has reflect by shooting lmp on him and making sure only one of my projectile hits him, my aoe is much lower in dps than my single target. If it's a pack i either kite and drag mobs away from the rare or i skip it totally. As for unique mechanics they are simply non existant brother, there is no unique you can use with a templar wander, rares will beat the shit out of any unique for this build. For the ''generic'' criticism i dont agree with you, there are tons of other builds that people share and some are very generic also. I did not found any DPS wander build being shared out there because everyone uses krip's wander build. So in fact, it is different and there arent many out there sharing a guide on how to build a dps elemental templar wander, i never seen one myself except mine. Thanks for the comments and criticism it's appreciated. Alright makes sense.
What do you think about using lioneye's instead for a shield? And which is better for gear, WED or flat elemental damage? Last edited by Phaesol#3012 on Sep 1, 2013, 1:08:15 PM

" I think that you really need to get that hybrid armour/es shield, lioneye is much more tankier but we need that hybrid one to convert all the ES into mana, this is how you will be able to run all the auras you need. As you can see, my current hybrid shield gives almost 500 s, imagine all of that converted to mana, that makes up to a huge boost to our pool. You need atleast two items with ES to make sure you have enough mana for auras and casting power siphon, i find myself having mana problems even with that much mana, but its covered with mana flasks ofcourse and later on i will be going down to finesse node near shadow/ranger area and there is a good mana boost there from 3 nodes i think you should check that out. As for WED or FLAT damage, hmm good question, if you cant afford getting WED on amulet and rings you should atleast try to get some flat elemental damage for sure, lightning and fire and the rest of the mods should be life resists. As i said getting all the mods needed on gear is very hard when you cant really afford such huge DPS items. Just try to round it up and get some flat damage first. You can get a first WED boost from your belt for sure, that shoul not be too hard to get and WED on rings/amulet is a luxury in my opinion, i dont even have WED on my amulet. Imagine my amulet with WED on it, it would be Worth tons of exalts D: I hope i answered your question ! IGN:Hauntworld - ICU Omniscient PvP guild

" probably 1/3 of the dps will be removed and moved onto survivability probably, but in the same time i did not test it so i'm not 100% sure. IGN:Hauntworld - ICU Omniscient PvP guild
