Texas... you crazy americans

To be fair, there are many good people in Texas. They are just quietly going about with there lives. Its just the crazy ones that make the noise.
(No, I'm not from Texas, but I have been there.) |

Countries change, like people do..
At one time, people valued the constitution, they valued freedom, independence. Last and most important of all they valued their own countrymen. I spoke with an army guy once, U.S army. He told me in this day and age countrymen are at each other throats for suspicion of the dumbest thing. The mind set of people is very far from, what their forefathers believed in. |

" This is true, but living in Houston proved to me that Texans can be quite conservative, politically obsessed people. In short, the government there doesn't screw around with BS. I expect the law to get thrown down hard on this kid. It's a shame, he was jk.
" Actually, the fact that you've been in a similar situation and yet you still think it's a good thing that this guy is potentially facing years in prison for an obvious joke, makes me think it's more likely you're a "fascist extremist whateverist", not less. Where's your fucking empathy? |
|
" Thanks. I've read three different articles on this case now - this thread was the second - and I don't see anything but a tragic overreaction to a tasteless joke. I'll just say that I disagree with pretty much everything you just said. I'd rather not get into an internet war of my own. Don't want to spend eight years in jail... Too soon? |

The OP's link is completely dishonest reporting.
This TV news report isn't much better... http://www.kvue.com/news/Father-of-19-year-old-charged-with-Terroristic-Threat-says-son-was-only-joking-212856951.html That one explains that the video game had nothing to do with the comment about shooting up a school. That comment was on Facebook, after he was done playing LoL with his friend. The news media loves to link video games to violence don't they? Sensationalizing video games will only work for one more generation though, while old people who don't like video games still make up the majority of uninformed biased mass-media drones.
I find this sort of thing to be absolutely absurd. Gotta love living in a society where everyone is so paranoid and sensitive that everyone is guilty until proven innocent. Nowadays you can't say anything without being branded as some kind of threat or owing someone an apology. Fuck this Earth and everyone on it.
