News splash archive, part 1
I'm trying to show a collection of splash images from the 'news' page. They are pretty, and keeping them together helps understanding the development progress of Path of Exile!

December 2013
November 2013
Start of biweekly patches, a new season is started with new game mode (Descent Champions) that introduces many additions to the Descent formula. Also, new supporter packs!
1.0.2 - Greater Patch
Damage over time rework, Map rework, 1 skill, 4 uniques (1 map). All the feature planned for 1.0 are finally deployed, and this time the Carrion Queen didn't kill hardcore characters (or at least, not improperly)!
1.0.1 - Greater Patch
1 support, 3 skills, 4 uniques, bandit respec and white sockets without Tabula rasa?! An overall awesome patch, much better than the open beta patches. Damage over time rework delayed to next patch, unfortunately!
October 2013
Rocktober!
1.0.0 - Giant Patch
September 2013
The 1.0 release is next month, but september comes with two awesome patches!
0.11.6 - Grand Patch
Trapfest! 2 skill and 2 support (3 of these are trap-related), 4 uniques, polish and bugfix.
0.11.5 - Grand Patch
Trap cooldown rework, ingame store, 1 support, 5 uniques (Poorjoy's Asylum) And with a new boss guarding the Ledge, racing will never be the same!
August 2013
August sees the biggest patch since open beta (breaking the record of 0.11.0), and the start of the last open beta season with another game mode: Endless Ledge.
0.11.4c - Medium Patch
Season 4 patch.
0.11.4 - Colossal Patch
This much anticipated (and much delayed!) patch predates on many features that were originally intended for 0.11.3 AND 0.11.5. It brings so many changes that I won't even try listing them! The cdn was put to its knees because of its massive size and requests, more or less like it happened with the open beta lauch.
July 2013
July is the "social" month, with twitch integration and a revamped chat.
0.11.3
Before this patch, the chat instance was managed by the server and you had no control over it. Also, a microtransaction. Many changes originally intended for this patch have been postponed to 0.11.4.
0.11.2e
Meow! Bugfixes and some microtransactions. The Iron Maiden is the second helmet skin, as Demon King Horns (originally an attachment) was retrofitted as helmet skin.
0.11.2
Ranger skills and evasion revamp, twitch integration, 3 new uniques and some microtransactions (which can now stack).
0.11.1e
Interim patch with new microtransaction and uniques, while waiting for the skill pipeline to fill up. This is the first time that a pet does not come in multiple tier/flavor, i.e. there is only one kind of ferret.
June 2013
June is the most impressive month since open beta launch, and starts the second phase of it: new leagues, new content, new packs, new helmets, rogue exiles are introduced and of course season 3 with a completely new game mode: Descent!
0.11.1
Before this patch, there was different art and names for helmets, and there were repeats for high tiered helmets
Spoiler
The 0.11.0 patch also included these...
0.11.0 - Giant Patch
The biggest patch (more than 1Gb) since open beta launch. Also includes 6 new uniques and new league-specific base item types.
May 2013
May is relatively silent, but a secret awesomeness is on the works and a second season is started.
0.10.8
4 uniques and some microtransactions.
April 2013
Also April sees interesting new content, with a total of 5 new support!
0.10.7
2 support, 4 uniques and some microtransactions. This patch also heralded the start of Season 2. The black/white checkered pattern fit very nicely with the event!
0.10.6
1 new skill, 4 new uniques and some microtransactions.
0.10.5
3 support, 4 new uniques and many fix and rebalance. This patch required a lot of testing.
March 2013
March is very interesting, with new content added regularily.
0.10.4b
4 new uniques and some microtransactions.
0.10.4
1 new skill, 4 new uniques and some microtransactions.
0.10.3
1 new skill, 4 new uniques and some microtransactions.
0.10.2
1 new skill, 4 new uniques and some microtransactions. Chris promised a development "death march" with weekly patches like this!
February 2013
Early february is still about patching for the launch; later on the first race season is started, and the gems receive new art.
0.10.1g
some microtransactions.
0.10.1c
Race season announced!
0.10.1
the gems have skill-specific art. Before this patch, every gem looked like every other gem of the same color (blue, red, green). Supports were round and that's it.
0.10.0ggg
some microtransactions and a lot of fix
January 2013
January sees the launch of the (first) open beta phase, and GGG is working for preparing it and then patching. A lot of content is being pushed and at the same time the servers are tested like never before.
0.10.0
Open beta launch!
October 2012
0.9.13
PvP support, 5 new skill, 5 support, 7 new uniques, a ton of fix and rebalance. My wishlist: Hi-res digital artbook Allow spaces in character names Vulkan and Linux support Opensource the game Last edited by Pesegato on Dec 11, 2015, 11:24:12 AM
