so is this game better then diablo 3?

This thread has at least 2 dozens of acronyms and I understand a post just 50% cause of them.

AoA, FFaa, WWTY, JKAroa, BURK, KAPOW, S.D.LL ???????

Come on guys, there also grannies among you.
I think they're both very different and that's why I'm going to play them both.
Depends on what you mean by "better"

As far as skills go, D3 lets you try out a multitude of builds very quickly because you can change skills/runes anytime while progressing through the game

PoE requires you to have the gem, and an empty socket of the same color which if you want to augment, it needs to have a link to another socket, so there will be a lot of skills you don't use/even have access to, this does however increase replay-ability which is lacking in D3 as every class has all their possible skills at lvl 60

graphics are different and the dark grittiness of PoE has been mentioned, FFA loot is annoying in pub games, inventory tetris in PoE is reminiscent of D2

And one thing that hasn't been mentioned is the D3 RMAH, which is nice when you can make money off your hobby

its true that D3 lets you try many skill combinations, but in inferno mode out of thousands only 1 to 3 builds are really viable (except you pay hundreds of dollars for porno gear in the rmah, then anything is viable). some wizard skills are so bad i didnt even consider using them in 250 hours of gameplay

You know, I never really got why everyone got so upset about the repair cost increase. I hardly even noticed a change, hell I was actually in favor of it. Seemed like a legit response to corpse rushing.

Funny, it was the tipping point for me that made me stop playing.

I didn't like being forced to farm stuff that COULD NOT kill me, just to so avoid the huge repair costs. It completely removed the desire to "try" content that you were just barely well geared enough to attempt, because each death cost about 7,000 gold.

I literally died once, saw the repair cost, logged off and never returned.

PoE does a lot of things better than DIablo 3. The combat is slower, but more interesting. Being able to combine my abilities...like Cold Snap into Shield Bash, at will, not having to have 50% of my abilities be straight up "oh shit" buttons for escape and instead have different ways to attack.

I LOVE the potion system, and spending orbs to make interesting magic flasks is very fun.

I've barely touched the passive skill trees with any of my 3 characters, but I like them. SO much more interesting than "Here are your skills...oh, and here are 5 ways to slightly modify that skill...enjoy picking the ONE good one and using it for 40 levels!"

PoE is basically, exactly what I wanted from Diablo 3. Diablo 3 was a MAJOR disappointment.
The closed beta for PoE is better than D3.

Some game that date back to 1990-2000 are better than D3, like diablo 1 forexample.
The graphics don't even come close to D3. The game play is far far superior, but saying the graphics are better in PoE is unfair and inaccurate. Chalk it up to "style" if it makes you feel better though.

Very true, its just that the graphics in D3 are not diablo-like, but in PoE they are.

The graphics in D3 are so wow like and cartoony, which sucks in a diablo game.
Yes.
