Let's get real, Beta players - know your role

Note to OP:

The problem with posts like this... is that everyone that it applies to assumes their complaints are justified and you must be talking about all the other people guilty of these things.

Keep in mind, these people weren't selected to participate in the beta based on a survey or their ability to properly test and discuss the game.

Early testers were chosen at random or were given a key by another player. Now many testers believe they have "paid for the game" which they believe entitles them to share their opinion with as little tact as they please.


I agree with everything you say... it's just kinda pointless. As the size of the community grows, the quality will decline. See Eternal September.

The best thing that we could do is simply not comment in any of the type of thread you are talking about. The worst part about this and just about any community is that those threads have several pages of responses and stay on the front page for days because people feel the need to respond.
