Does the lethal damage boosts apply to the fire on the ground?
Yes, it does.
Is there a list of these mods and what they do?
lethal they do 50% extra fire/ice/lighting damage
turbo they move/attack/cast 60% faster
ancestral means there will be totems everywhere
imolation means physical is converted to fire damage after all conversions and creeps leave a burning ground patch much like fire trap

in short man mode race

Shouldnt the rewards for these instagib event be tweaked? 2 points for clearing Catacombs in Cruel in one hour? C'mon
The waste of time race, don't bother. If rewards would reflect the difficulty, maybe, but under these circumstances, given the horrible desync, it's about 50% dice roll and only 50% skill.

If you somehow manage to get a marauder to the town, just buy an iron ring and drop it together with your 2 red gems in bank, then re-roll a witch or ranger, get to town buy another ring, craft yourself 2 fire resistance rings, and then you should be pretty well set.

The problem is it's very hard to get a marauder in town unless you're really lucky and get a bow or wand drop in the first few kills, otherwise you may want to re-roll again and again till you get the bow or wand.

Good grief no! The waste of time is playing easy mode, because anyone can beat that! I want a game I can PLAY!
Personally I like these showing up as a balance.
I suck at the skill runs. But I have always done well by luck and being careful
