Support Gem Idea - Apply Curse on Hit

I had an interesting support gem idea the other day. Instead of just casting a curse or have a totem do it for you, it would help melee and ranged users drastically if they could apply a curse effect on hit to enemies. Obviously it wouldn't have a 100% chance, maybe starting at 20% and upwards in 5% increments per level.

Any thoughts?

Had a slightly different idea.
An Aura support gem (like the Totem support gem) that turns a curse into an aura (think D2 Pally).
It would still count towards the maximum of curses allowed though.

That's another great idea! That could even be worked into a keystone, like all curse gems equipped automatically turn into auras.

I can definitely see the value in the "chance to cast ____ curse on striking" gem; used to love the Witchwild String Bow in D2 for just that reason. +1 from me.

Not to get anyone's hopes too high, but I heard from a little birdie (possibly my kiwi, it says the strangest things) that something like this is coming.

I would expect different from a cute little birdie than to issue sinister threats like that. What has this world come to :(

I like both the curse on hit, and curse aura ideas.
