Tired of the grind? Try Torchlight 2!

Just recently, Torchlight 2 received a major patch with some added content, support for the Steam workshop and the in house game editor known as GUTS. If you are looking to play a Diablo style ARPG that is fun and doesn't require a grind I highly recommend you check it out. Uniques/Legendary gear drop very generously compared to other games in the ARPG genre. Great solution for those of us with a life - as in working a professional job 40+ hours and juggling the wife (or husband) & kids (if you have any!)

Synergies Mod - A professionally done overhaul mod that was recently as high as #2 on ModDB:

PoE is a great game and a hell of an effort. However, after spending $30 on PoE back in Jan and now struggling to get the motivation to log in much anymore, I have to suggest TL2. A 30 min session will guarantee you an upgrade (or multiple upgrades!). Hardcore is hardcore - you die and your character is GONE! Similar map system for the end game.

I'll be around for sure and am excited for what PoE will be at release, however I feel the game in it's current state is quickly losing its luster for me. The giant skill forest and spammy trade channel has just become too much for me I guess. I have free time to game despite my RL commitments, but I don't have nearly enough time to grind up the necessary currency for decent gear and high quality skill gems.
Might do this. I played the beta and release at a friend's place and was supremely unimpressed by the class choices and just how much of a throwback the game felt after PoE (picking up gold felt really weird), but I figured there'd be some good mods sooner or later.
Warhammer 40k Inquisitor: where shotgunning is not only not nerfed, it is deeply encouraged.

Dogma > Souls, but they're masterworks all. You can't go wrong.

I was right about PoE2 needing to be a separate, new game. It was really obvious.
Recently got a lot more involved with TL2 - synergies mod is awesome.

Quite a good patch. Though I'm still trying to finish looting my Terraria world of every scrap of ore as well as enter hardmode.

Wow! 123K Steam recommendations... I might have to get that on the next sale.
The Synergy mod is really an awesome mod, they did a great job on it.

Indeed it is. Right now Synergies mod released the latest patch including more developement on the Paladin/Warlock classes. I am waiting on the mod to finish both classes before I really start digging myself into the game again. Also, I heard, well more like I read from the Synergies forum from the Synergies mod creator, that he/she is going to add a new act in the mod in the future.
Sometimes you can take the game out of the garage but you can't take the garage out of the game.

Well, I really didn't like TL2 much for a number of reasons, but considering how disenchanted I am with PoE, offline and modding does seem pretty appealing.

Nope, just fans of a genre commenting on a great game. I play TQ still and can't wait for Grim Dawn.
