Communication and the Sacred Orb

There is just no reason for the armor modifier to exist. Do you want more defenses from a crafting base, Chris? THEN ADD THEM DIRECTLY. There is NO need to add EVEN MORE layers of RNG BS to a game that is actively losing players to RNG BS. RNG BS is one of THE top reasons players cite for LEAVING, Chris! Adding MORE, and then, atop that, adding EVEN more? That's NOT going to make people happy, Chris.

First we need a base of the right Ilvl
Then the right basetype
Then the 6ling, which has been too expensive for literal years now
Then the crafting, in which we get to deal with tier after tier and roll after roll of complete garbage we don't want. Why are there so many tiers that can roll on these high end bases? Because RNG!

Now you want to either make the base we need even HARDER to get... Or cause us to spend and insanely expensive orb to 'fix' it. Crafting is already insanely RNG dependent, expensive, and so complicated that 99% of the playerbase couldn't craft a GG item without an outside tool open.

If you want to add complexity to the game (Despite it already being heftily complex), then add actual options, choices, as you already do. This is not choice. There's no reason to CHOOSE to have an objectively worse item, Chris.

And that's all you're doing here. You're making it harder to get a good basetype, and making all the basetypes that get a 'bad' roll unusable. Now, instead of all Ilvl 84 Vaal Regalias being good... Maybe a tenth of them have the max roll? Maybe worse? How bad is the rolling here, Chris? All you've done is made clear that those not-perfectly-rolled bases simply shouldn't be used, as they are objectively, factually, worse than a perfectly rolled base. And if you're already going through the brain mangling RNG lottery that is self-crafting.... There's just no reason to do it on an already 'bad' base.

I love how GGG makes something BETTER and then everyone complains about it, and then they explain HOW IT'S BETTER and then even more people complain about it.

Why not just give every armour a 20% buff rather than 0-20%? Even you have the Scared Orb, this will eventually push the crafting base price to a new higher level.

Thanks for coming up with new systems to try out! I wish some of the angry noobs would give things a chance before freaking out every single patch.

I wish some of the commenters would consider the implications and the facts of chance and mathematics before posting.
These are rarer than an exalt, and behave much like a divine orb, not an armourers scrap.

99.9% of people can't afford to "give things a chance before freaking out" because these are too expensive to use.
No natural dropped item anywhere in the game is worth using these on. Nothing. The rarity and unreliability means these will be reserved for double elevated items and the like.

The ONLY interaction I may have with these is buying one while they are unnaturally cheap early in the league to sell later for economic reasons to fund a build, much like mirror shards or the heist enchantment orbs.

Thoughtful intelligent people who have played the game for YEARS as a job like [insert any one of 20 streamers here] are mostly saying are saying this is a bad idea. Bear in mind these people probably spend MORE hours per year with the software and it's nuances than a normal 9-5, in IT, at a software company, in New Zealand. Highly skilled people who understand the product intimately don't need to give things a chance.
Gotta sell more stash tabs for a new orb thats super rare. El oh el. Developed a solution to a problem that you created. Too funny!

What exactly did GGG make "better"? By what metric could taking away craftable quality be considered "better"? By what metric could then gating a weaker (both on average and at the top end) base defense modifier behind a whole separate layer of RNG and this new absurdly rare orb, which also (unlike quality) does nothing for our socketing/linking chances, be considered "better"? Do you have a prescription for whatever it is you're smoking, or is it generally available, and if so, where can I get some?
Fairgraves was a slave trafficker specialized in the kidnapping and transport of children. He was not "a good man".
ROFLMAO a glorified armorer's scrap costs 3 exalts. so 99.999% percent of players will never see a sacred orb. but "it's so fun to finally craft a 'perfect' armor, after 1 million tries of this super extremely unnecessarily rare orb." Sure, buddy.

we can extrapolate by their intentions, that finding a +20% item on the ground is similarly ludicrously rare. and that a 'perfect' item would cost you much, much more to acquire through trade. furthermore widening the power gap between 1% players and the normies.
Im okay with quality bases... but please dont add this orb... this gives base types a chase. :|

+1 Well said!
RNG is killing the game. Crafting is crap, Dropping is crap... the "vision" is pure refined BS

Maybe you should re-read the entire topic from the start so you have a better understanding of how this works.
