Totem range vs skill/spell range

Know that spell totems have a base totem RANGE of 60untis
75 RANGE with Divergent 20 quality


Is this only an acro range where it will attempt to cast a given spell?
And or does this "RANGE" also limit/cap spell range as well


in my case Divergent Spell totem with Freezing pulse with lots of proj speed.

FP base duration ( how long it exists before it dissipates) =0.375 sec
base proj speed = 165 units/sec
Base range = ~61.8 units; 0.375*165

my current set up

FP duration 0.375sec base and CAN NOT be changes
FP proj speed mod x2.61 ( 161% increased proj speed) = 460.65units/sec
MY FP effective range ( before dissipating) = 161.5 units


Does the spell totem RANGE limit/cap the distance the FP ( or any spell for that matter) can travel in game???


Granted in the case of FP increased proj speed increased damage at any given point of the pulse however want to look to make sure I am not over invested in proj speed when skills points could be better spent in skills such as increased spell/elemental damage etc.

Caveat...never played totems.

The Wiki does define totem range as an aggro radius for targeting purposes, although the Wiki has also been known to be wrong.

But... there are some vids out there for FP totem builds and it seems pretty clear that FP coming off the totems has a visual animation range MUCH greater than 60 units, so I wouldn't worry about it.


I agree probable not a big deal for 90% of players... but decided to truly min max a L100 build for the first time in 5 years lol
