Naw, I've noted specifically that the cost quantity is in red, i.e. you cannot afford this. I usually dash to my stash to rectify, but apparently it's a bug and it will allow me to purchase straight from the vendor.

Yeah, after reading this thread I went and tried it and of course feel a bit silly, because you can indeed buy using orbs stored in your stash. But I know it showed as red on mine at some point, because I remember being actively disappointed that I had to go back to my stash to get orbs.
