Banned for using AHK and only 1 server-side action per button press???

if i understand correctly, there is no real way to prove that you're using a macro, right? because ping will make the timing unstable even if the script's timing is fixed, right?

It would be really simple to put a few lines of code in the client to catch this and send a flag to the server.

yup even chris said they always know when and what kind of macro you are using , its just they let it slide for most of userbase , health and all. Op must have done way more then a single click macro and that too multiple times .

Not at all, let's take a hypothetical. Say that some player gets a half dozen scam complaints against them. A GGG investigator turns on a flag associated with their account. This flag is sent to the client on boot up. The client does it's simple analysis and updates the players account with the results. After a few days the GGG investigator looks at the account and bans the person for violating the rules. To reiterate, I have no idea if GGG has implemented this capability or not, I'm just looking at it as a general software engineering problem since that is my background. It should be fairly simple to implement.

This is the simple scenario that I had in mind when I asked my question. It wouldn't be hard at all to make such a thing global for all accounts. You would just need to do the analysis by just doing rather routine database analysis type programming. I really doubt that GGG would be interested in doing that though. No reason I see to spend effort trying to get rid of good customers. On the other hand, players that hurt the general fun and PoE experience for others would definitely be worth getting rid of.

Illegal? This is a GGG program that would be collecting GGG data. This data might be collected to enforce publicly known rules. This GGG data might be analyzed by a GGG investigator. What is possibly illegal?

The take away from this post should be, don't get too cocky if you think you've got away with scamming others in PoE trades. Karma may come back to bite you.
