Dogma > Souls, but they're masterworks all. You can't go wrong.

I was right about PoE2 needing to be a separate, new game. It was really obvious.

1- to show off your riches?
2- to support a game developer that makes a game that you and people want?
3- 1k dollars for some people is not that much of a hassle to make?
4- be happy someone pays/funds the game and you get to offload it for free?

you are not forced to treat the 1k donators as gods and or kings, as they should expect the same respect and treat any other player would get.

im not tryign to sound conflicting or snobish here, im just poiting out the obvious possibilities, and hell if i had spare 1k cash and was a die hard core fan of the genre i would support as well, and also the chance to make an item for the game, that people all over the world will use and value? 1k seems cheap to me!

I think it's worth mentioning that many (not all) of the Diamond Supporters (and others) are prolific posters on the forum, and often behave with a notable level of responsibility when contributing. One might even think they had, I dunno, an investment... No, let's say, a commitment, to PoE. =^[.]^=

For some people 1k is not much so they can pay it
and i want to say thank you to those people giving
a big amount of support because they not only help
the devs but also the players since we all play
the same game.
I may be sounding like a broken record after some posts, I don't feel like reading them all to be honest, but some people honestly want to see a game succeed.

This isn't a massive budget title, this is a game made by people who are passionate for a community that shares the same passion for ARPG games.

So while I would agree, I could never personally see myself spending 1k on a game (Mostly because I don't have even $10 to buy into the beta) some people who have the money and really want to see such a game make it will gladly throw down the cash, not just for the swag, but to help fund a game they want to love.

That being said, there are of course some people who just want the biggest epeen which being a diamond supporter whose been with the game since the beginning would certainly do.

There are also those who are addicted to collectors editions or limited edition goodies (I can relate, kickstarter and collector editions of games are constantly making me want to drop money I don't have).

So, basically there are understandable and legitimate reasons for people to drop money on a game that is still in beta, saying that they have "no life" for doing so is unnecessarily petty and rude. If this bothers you, then make sure you never go anywhere near kickstarter... dang I love that website. xD
I like you already.

No, not you, the other one.

If by e-peen you mean 'badass sword', then GUILTY AS CHARGED! ^_^

I Like Pie.
There are a few reasons, personally.

For starters, I am really proud to support videogame company from mt home country New Zealand. There are so few developers here, and only really two others I can think of have had any decent success (NinjaKiwi and Sidhe). GGG are doing such a good job and have put such good pre-production and development into it that I want to do what I can to propel them to the top of the NZ game industry. If this game does well, it will open the door to thousands of hopeful students etc. who want to get into game production, but feel like they need to leave NZ to do it.

On top of that, the staff have shown a huge amount of involvement with the community here, they really read and listen to what we all say. Up until a few months after closed beta started, Chris read every single post that was made to the forums. They even let me visit them at their development studio when I was in town earlier this year. This is the kind of professional conduct I want to support.

It's also a sign of commitment that I wanted to make publicly. "I really like what these guys are going and I am proud to have been a part of shaping it." since I was added to beta in the first minutes after it began. Getting my name in the credits and a forum title felt like a good reward to me.

And of course we can't forget the bonuses themselves. The pet kiwi will be a symbol of pride for me as long as this game exists. And spending 250USD here is probably not a huge amount above what I would have otherwise spent in the game's lifetime anyway.

Hopefully that helps explain things a bit :)
