Did you have a vendor screen open?
I experienced the same thing when doing the 3 hours race yesterday, right-clicked the book to get my passive point and after the book was gone, no point. I had Tarkleigh vendor window open when i clicked the book, so maybe its linked to this. Later I clicked a book without any other window open and it worked fine. |

I believe there is currently a bug that using a skill book in a different difficulty from its quest causes it to not apply instantly. But fear not! You should receive the point when changing an area, or to the other difficulty. This is fixed in the next patch.

I have the same issue like bbud (quest: A Dirty Job).
As the support sugguested I have changed the difficulty and area both but I am still missing the two skill points. | |
