Movement canceling my casts. Halp!
How do I turn this OFF?!?!
I play totems and every time I try to move right after casting it cancels my cast. I have died 40+ times now because I cant get my totems up cause it keeps canceling the damn things. Last bumped on Jan 24, 2020, 2:02:03 PM

This is a consequence of the animation canceling GGG introduced in 3.7. The premise is you can cancel a cast before it goes off by simply moving since there are times when you start a cast then realize you don't want to be in that spot so if you move or use another skill in the first 20% or so of the cast it'll just cancel. Good if you actually do want to cancel, but bad if you want to get the cast off.
There is no way to turn this off. The best way to prevent this is have a key set to Move Only and use that for moving, and while holding that key you cast your totem and as far as I've tested just now it will always cast the totem if you hold that key, but an issue is it won't do the animation cancel for the last 20% of the cast which would let you move sooner after you've done the cast. If you want that last 20% animation cancel, you will have to press the Move Only key at the right time or else use another skill at the right time. That timing will vary based on your placement speed for totems. |

" Then I am uninstalling this game. This game is unplayable for me in its current state. I have used the mouse for movement for 4+ years and changing is not an option at this point. Its bad enough that every update makes the game more and more unstable and buggy but these half thought out major changes like this ruin the game for people like me. Ill check back again next year. Hopefully GGG will have a off button for this bullshit by then. |

Why do you think everyone and their grandmother uses cyclone?
Organic chemistry is a weird thing. If you add a spoon of shit to a barrel of jam you'll get a barrel of shit.

" No. Not IT cancels it. I does not do it automatically at random times. YOU cancel it by pressing the movement command to early. Animation canceling was a long requested feature in the community. What you can do: 1. Set the skill to "always attack in place". Klick on the bottom in your bar with the skill and check the box. 2. Hold down your movment key and keep pressing it. Cast you spell (don't realess the movment key). Then you will stand still as long as it takes to cast the kill and then you will automatically move on. BTW. do it with all skills. It is a big quality of life. Just keep holding down the movement key and let the skill cancel the movement, just to keep moveing on right in time, when the animation is finished. " You can still use the mouse to move. I generally have left click as the "move only" button, right click as my main skill, and then all my utility on the keyboard. I mean...you can uninstall if you want, but it's more of an adjustment period, instead of a game-breaking bug. Also, they put this in...2-3 leagues ago? It's not new. |
